Fox
Head CoachChris Fox becomes the forth-head coach in
the eight-year history of the lacrosse program at Wheeling Jesuit
University. Fox is the first former Cardinal to lead the men’s lacrosse
team as head coach. Additionally, Fox played under each of the three
former head coaches during his playing career at Wheeling Jesuit
University. Fox graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Business management
and a B.A. in Political and Economic Philosophy. While obtaining his
undergraduate degrees Fox also served as vice-chair of SAAC, and was
inducted into the National Honor Society in Philosophy.
Last season Fox served as the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at
Whittier College (Whittier, California). Fox’s main duties were the
development of the young offense and goaltending. Fox help lead the
Poets to four regular season victories. The most wins the program had
seen since 2003. The success of the 2007 season comes after two
consecutive seasons without a regular season victory. The Poets season
ended with back-to-back wins, which had not been accomplished since
2001.
Also while in southern California, Fox worked with the Starz Lacrosse
Foundation and Adrenaline Lacrosse to promote and develop youth lacrosse
in the South Bay area, and expose scholarship opportunities for high
school students from the southern California area.
Prior to playing at Wheeling Jesuit University Fox won several
provincial championships in box lacrosse in Ontario. In 2001 while
playing with the Wallaceburg Jr. B Red Devils, Fox won the Founders Cup
the Canadian National Jr. B Championship. Fox was recruited to Wheeling
Jesuit for his play with the St. Clair Spirits U19 team, were Fox is
among the all time leaders in goals, assist, and points.
During his collegiate career at Wheeling Jesuit, Fox played a part in
the Cardinals two most successful seasons. During his freshman
campaign, Fox and his teammates became ranked nationally for the first
time in program history (9th) and again during his senior year (10th).
Since graduating Fox has attended professional lacrosse tryouts with
the L.A. Riptide and Portland Lumberjax. After attending an NLL Player
Combine presented by the USIL, Fox was invited to camps by the Boston
Blazers and Buffalo Bandits.
A native of Wallaceburg, Ontario Canada, Fox currently resides in
Wheeling W.V. |
